My mission is to showcase beautiful natural places in a way that encourages viewers to spend more time with the work, feel present in that moment, feel inspired to spend time experiencing and caring for nature however they are able, and appreciate that by doing so, they are also taking care of themselves.

My vision is for individuals to slow down and spend time in nature; to encourage everyone to spend more time outdoors, even if only for a few moments; for anyone who makes decisions to be acutely and constantly aware of their choices as directly affecting the health of the planet and themselves, to carefully consider this health as a core component of every “bottom line,” to make their decisions accordingly, and to create opportunities for others to do the same.

Like most of us, the pandemic of 2020 was a heavy brake pedal on my daily life - social engagements, the illusion of producitivity aand busyness created by a full calendar. It required that we spend time with ourselves. Because of this, when I wanted to get out of the house, it required me to go outside instead of indoors somewhere else.

The outside had long been a challenge for me due to debilitating allergies. When a new treatment started to work for me in the first year of the pandemic, I went outside. After spending an increasing amount of my life indoors without even realizing it, getting outside made me feel so much more than my career successes, my societal benchmark achievements, my busy calendar. The outdoors presented to me up-close-and-personal physical challenges, deep breaths, meditation, relaxation, a freedom from anxiety; but also the planet we talk about saving, the climate we change and talk about not changing, the tip of the iceberg of what's at stake.

I want my art to make you feel free from and more than your social engagements and acheivements that represent success according to society, because we are all more than that. Free from your anxiety and full of deep breaths. I also want you to feel the gravity of what's at stake if humanity doesn't return to a more reciprocal relationship with the earth, if we don't stop simply talking about climate change and start making measurable progress to stop it. I hope it makes you want to go outside, trade in your unpaid overtime for some fresh air and meaningful checkins with yourself, and support leadership, organizations, and initiatives that respect the earth and her future.

I'll be showing my favorites from my first fine art collection, unedited landscape images I made in remote areas of California and Washington State over the last two years.

RECLAIM POWER

“Joining this group was the greatest act of self-care I've done in a long time. I learned so much about storytelling and project planning, but more importantly I learned about myself. This program helped me establish myself as a photographer in a way I could not have on my own, and I had the honor of sharing time with a group of effective and talented storytellers. It helped me appreciate the power of focus, set realistic goals for myself, confidently return to writing, and the courage to share my work with the world.” - Adrienne
